Pair of mid-century teak armchairs, 1960s

These armchairs have an immediate, striking presence. The teak frame remains light and very elegant, while the generous proportions of the seat and backrest immediately convey that comfort is a significant part of the design, not secondary.

The contrast between the teak and the new yellow upholstery is probably the most striking feature: the wood makes the design warm and natural, while the fabric adds personality and makes the ensemble more contemporary, bright, and less predictable.
