Key Details
Designed by Ole Wanscher for Poul Jeppesen in the 1960s, these two PJ112 model armchairs express a Danish design approach in which meticulous construction is recognized above all in the details. The teak frame is slender yet well-defined, with slightly arched armrests that follow the profile of the seat and connect to the front legs.
The upholstered backrest and seat cushion are covered in an olive green fabric with a visible weave, a shade that harmonizes naturally with the warm color of the wood. The structure remains largely exposed, allowing one to appreciate the design of the rear supports and the continuity of the wooden surfaces.
Ole Wanscher was an important figure in Danish modernism, known for his attention to proportions and cabinetmaking tradition. The collaboration with Poul Jeppesen gave rise to numerous furnishings in which woodworking and the pursuit of an essential form maintain an evident link to the tradition of classical furniture.
Offered as a pair, these armchairs can find their place side by side in a living room, in front of a bookcase, or on either side of a low coffee table.
