Key Details
The Nesso is one of those projects that has managed to transform an everyday object into a recognizable presence within a space. Its compact form, built around a single continuous volume, eliminates any superfluous elements and focuses attention on the relationship between light and color.
This version, produced by Artemide, re-proposes Giancarlo Mattioli's original design in a vibrant orange finish. Even when turned off, the glossy surface and the large hemispherical diffuser capture natural light, while once switched on, the lamp diffuses soft and uniform illumination, suitable for both a living area and a bedside table or a study.
Despite being created in the sixties, the Nesso continues to fit naturally into contemporary interiors. It works alongside vintage furniture, but also as a contrasting element in minimalist environments, where color and form become a focal point without being excessive.
More than half a century after its design, it remains one of the objects that best exemplifies Italian design's ability to combine experimentation, function, and formal immediacy.
