This magnificent Teak Sideboard, produced by the renowned Danish manufacturer Clausen & Søn (often associated with the city of Silkeborg), is one of the most recognizable and beloved pieces of 1960s Scandinavian design. It immediately stands out for its superior build quality and its most famous aesthetic feature: the "bowtie" handles.
Unique Features:
Sculptural Design: The handles, carved from solid teak with an elongated central shape resembling a bow, are not only functional but represent the focal point of the entire piece, creating a unique visual rhythm on the front.
Danish Functionality: Equipped with space-saving sliding doors that conceal ample compartments with adjustable shelves and a central drawer section (often with dovetail joinery). This configuration offers perfect symmetry and great storage capacity.
Materials: Made of warm, golden-toned Teak, with selected grains running smoothly across the entire surface. The tapered legs lift the structure off the ground, lending lightness and elegance.
Versatility: Thanks to the sliding doors, it is also ideal in passageways or behind a dining table, where opening traditional doors might be cumbersome.
Condition: The cabinet is in excellent vintage condition, restored to enhance the natural beauty of the wood and ensure smooth sliding of doors and drawers.
