Key Details
A teak serving trolley produced by Sika Møbler, characterized by an open structure and an interesting interplay of surfaces and heights. The light-colored top, framed by wood, contrasts with the lower teak shelf, while the two side handles follow the frame's profile, becoming an integral part of the design.
The structure is built around slender uprights, with rounded corners and curved joints that soften the piece's geometry. The lower shelf offers additional surface space, while the four wheels make it easy to move the trolley from one room to another.
Widespread in mid-twentieth-century Scandinavian homes, serving trolleys met the need for a practical and easily movable accessory, used to serve drinks and dishes or to keep everyday items within reach. This example preserves that versatility, with a construction that enhances the natural characteristics of the teak.
It can be used next to the dining table, as a small bar cabinet in the living room, or as a surface for books and objects. Its compact dimensions and open structure make it suitable even for tighter spaces, where it introduces the warmth of wood without visually occupying too much room.
