Key Details
Four drawers arranged in two rows define the front of this 1960s Austinsuite chest of drawers. Instead of traditional handles, slim integrated pulls follow the profile of the drawers, creating a continuous horizontal design that is one of the piece's most recognizable details.
The teak frame is raised off the ground by four tall, tapered legs, which lighten a volume that is otherwise quite spacious. At 124 cm wide and 42.5 cm deep, it offers ample storage without requiring the space of a larger sideboard: it can work well in a bedroom, as well as in an entryway or living area.
The teak shows warm tones and a visible grain, particularly evident on the fronts. The top surface, meanwhile, remains simple and wide, suitable for use as a stand for a lamp, books, or small objects.
A mid-century piece that is practical rather than merely decorative, representative of 1960s British vintage production and easy to incorporate even into contemporary interiors.
