Teak nesting tables, 1960s

Nesting tables were born from a very practical idea: to have more surfaces available without taking up more space than necessary. It is probably this logic that makes them so relevant even today. When closed, they take up very little space; when open, they completely change their function and size depending on the need.

In this set, teak forms much of the project's character. The continuous grain accompanies the surfaces without interruption and helps to perceive the tables as a single unit even when separated. The overlapping of volumes also creates an interesting visual rhythm: when stacked, they almost look like a single element; when distributed in space, they begin to function as autonomous objects.

Their strength lies primarily in everyday use. They can sit at the sides of a sofa, become small coffee tables when guests arrive, be used next to an armchair, or distributed in different rooms as needed. They are furnishings that rarely stay in the same spot, and this is probably how they were intended.

More than simple side tables, they represent that very typical way of 1960s design to create flexible, discreet, and easy-to-live-with everyday objects.
