This extraordinary reclining lounge chair, designed by Swedish designer Alf Svensson (often produced by Danish Fritz Hansen or Swedish Dux), is a masterpiece of ergonomics and Mid-Century style. Designed between the late 1950s and early 1960s, it offers exceptional comfort thanks to its adjustable functionality.
Features and Comfort:
Reclining Mechanism: The distinctive feature is the reclining system that allows the seat and backrest to be adjusted to two positions (reading or resting), simply by shifting body weight or via a fluid mechanism integrated into the structure.
"High Back" Design: The high backrest, often shaped to accommodate the head (Contour model), offers full support, making it the perfect reading chair.
Structure: Made of solid wood (usually Beech, Teak, or Oak) with curved armrests that invite relaxation. The tapered legs maintain the light line typical of Nordic design.
Upholstery: The generously padded cushion follows the ergonomic curve of the shell. (Specify here if the fabric is original, bouclé, wool, or new leather).
Condition: The armchair is in excellent vintage condition. The wooden structure has been inspected and nourished, while the padding still ensures maximum comfort.
