Key Details
Gedser sideboard produced by IKEA between the 1950s and 1960s, made of teak. This piece belongs to a lesser-known phase of IKEA's production, prior to the brand's global spread, when the catalog included numerous furnishings inspired by Scandinavian modernism and made of woods such as teak and rosewood.
The front combines four drawers on the left and two sliding doors on the right, all featuring recessed handles. Behind the doors is a large storage compartment with a shelf, while the wooden base and tapered legs raise the structure off the floor.
The teak grain remains clearly visible throughout the piece and contributes to its warm and natural appearance. With its 157 cm width, it offers good storage capacity while maintaining dimensions that are easy to fit even in not particularly large spaces.
An interesting example of early IKEA production and mid-20th-century Scandinavian design.
