With a depth of just 18 cm, this Dyrlund display cabinet offers an interesting solution for displaying objects without taking up the space of a traditional piece of furniture. Its compact size and entirely glass front make it suitable for ceramics, small collectibles, books, or glasses.
The teak frame has strongly rounded corners and encloses the glass almost like a second structure within the cabinet. The handle also follows the same language, with a soft shape carved into the wood that avoids any visible metal elements on the front.
Inside, the shelves divide the space while still allowing the wooden back to be seen. The teak thus creates a warm surface behind the displayed objects, while the glass door protects the contents without hiding them: a combination particularly suited to a piece of furniture designed to showcase rather than simply contain.
Produced by Dyrlund, it is a mid-century Danish design piece that, in its small dimensions, concentrates several typical elements of 1960s Scandinavian modernism: accurate wood craftsmanship, very clear function, and attention to even the less apparent details.
